Refund Policy
Effective Date: 22 July 2026
The Irish Chamber of Commerce in Malaysia (“the Chamber”, “we”, “our”, or “us”) is committed to providing fair, transparent and consistent policies regarding payments made through our website.
This Refund Policy explains the circumstances under which refunds may be considered for membership subscriptions, event registrations, seminars, networking functions, trade missions, sponsorships and other Chamber services.
1. Membership Fees
Membership subscriptions are generally non-refundable once payment has been successfully processed and membership has been approved or activated.
If a duplicate payment has been made or an administrative error has occurred, please contact the Chamber promptly. Any approved refund will normally be made using the original payment method.
2. Events, Seminars and Trade Missions
The Chamber organises a wide range of events, including networking functions, seminars, conferences, trade missions, business delegations and other activities. As these events vary in nature and may involve commitments to venues, caterers, speakers, travel providers and other suppliers, the applicable cancellation and refund conditions may differ.
The refund and cancellation terms applicable to each event will be clearly stated in the event registration information or booking confirmation. By registering for an event, participants agree to the specific cancellation and refund terms applicable to that event.
Where permitted under the applicable event terms, requests for cancellation or refund should be submitted in writing to the Chamber as early as possible.
Where appropriate, the Chamber may, at its sole discretion, offer alternatives to a refund, including:
- Transfer of the registration to another person from the same organisation.
- Transfer of the registration to a future Chamber event.
- A credit towards future Chamber activities.
3. Chamber Cancellation or Postponement
If the Chamber cancels or postpones an event, participants will be notified as soon as reasonably practicable.
Depending on the circumstances, participants may be offered one or more of the following:
- A full refund.
- A transfer to the rescheduled event.
- A credit towards another Chamber event or activity.
The Chamber shall not be responsible for any additional costs incurred by participants, including travel, accommodation or other personal expenses, unless otherwise required by law.
4. Sponsorships and Advertising
Payments made for sponsorships, advertising opportunities or promotional activities are generally non-refundable once the associated benefits have commenced or promotional materials have been produced or published.
Any exceptions will be considered on a case-by-case basis at the Chamber’s discretion.
5. Duplicate or Incorrect Payments
If you believe you have been charged incorrectly or have accidentally made a duplicate payment, please contact the Chamber promptly.
Following verification, any approved refund will normally be processed using the original payment method.
6. Refund Processing
Approved refunds will normally be processed within 10–14 business days, although the time taken for funds to appear in your account will depend on your bank, card issuer or payment provider.
Refunds will ordinarily be made using the same payment method used for the original transaction.
7. Force Majeure
The Chamber shall not be liable for failure to deliver an event or service due to circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, government restrictions, public health emergencies, industrial action or other force majeure events.
In such circumstances, the Chamber will make reasonable efforts to offer alternative arrangements or credits where practicable, but reserves the right to determine the appropriate remedy based on the circumstances.
