17th March 2023 - Delighted to host a St. Patrick's day Breakfast in partnership with EUROCHAM and guests of honour The Irish Minister for State for Skills and Further Education Niall Collins and the Ambassador to Malaysia Her Excellency Hilary Reilly. We had over 60 attendees join us including members of ICCM, EUROCHAM, Bilateral EU Chambers and the Irish community in Malaysia. Speeches were given by the Minister, Ambassador and Oliver Roche Chairman of EUROCHAM. Was the perfect start to St. Patrick's day and a weekend of celebrations.

The Irish Chamber of Commerce in Malaysia ( ICCM) are taking the opportunity, in this St.Patrick’s week, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of our accession to the European Union. There is no doubt that the decision made all those years ago has had the greatest impact on our country, our economy, on our peoples and on our social fabric than any since Ireland gained its independence from the British Empire 100 years ago this year. Omicron & Beyond The season to be merry is well over and hopefully most had good fun, and had the opportunity for personal down time, family time and social time. 2021 was a tough year for many, professionally and personally including missing quite a few of our friends and colleagues who chose to leave Malaysia during the pandemic. So much to reflect on and yet time to leave what are memories of another Covid year behind. Time to be in the year of the two’s, for those phonetically inclined, its “Two Oh To Toooo” .. Over 2021 we lost 4 of our board members, most leaving Malaysia and heading to pastures greener. Although it was a big hit to loose so many in such a short period of time, we feel blessed that 4 members have stepped into the breach and have been elected and legally confirmed to their positions on the board from January 2022. They bring diversity of background, gender, ideas and new energy to the board. They say better late than never, well in ICCM we finally got to hold our AGM as an in person event on December 10th 2021 in Healy Macs, Changkat. All formalities were handled and agenda completed with an attendance of 40 members and associates assuring we were beyond quorum. A great and safe evening was had by all with appropriate adherence to SOP's. Big thanks you to our sponsors Healy Macs, MFE Formworks, Teknicast, AGS Relocation and Amee Philips! Been a long time since we have been able to hold a F2F networking event, but we look forward with optimism to 2022 when we plan to hold such events quarterly.
