About ICCM

The ICCM is an organisation whose purpose is to develop and foster trade, services, education and investment between Ireland and Malaysia, while also offering a forum for the exchange of business views and experiences.

The organisation has the following objectives:

  • Networking
The activities of the ICCM include a mix of business and related social functions.  Events organised by the ICCM include business luncheon presentations, seminars and dialogue sessions with relevant institutions.  The social functions are a combination of informal gatherings and semi-formal events, designed to meet the needs of a diverse membership. These events will allow the development of good business contacts, not only within the Irish business community in Malaysia, but also with other foreign companies, Malaysian counterparts and government bodies.
  • Communications & Information
Latest developments in the business world and members’ news will be communicated regularly. The ICCM will also provide business information to our members, individuals and companies interested in expanding bilateral trade and services.  The ICCM will cooperate with Irish Government agencies and associations such as Enterprise Ireland in providing these services. Profiles of all ICCM member companies, including the services they provide, will be distributed to members should they wish to avail of this resource.
  • Representation
The ICCM aims to serve as a link with other chambers and organisations with similar objectives in Malaysia and the wider Asia-Pacific region such as the Asia Pacific Irish Business Forum and the European-Union Malaysia Chamber of Commerce & Industry (EUMCCI).
  • Membership
Membership is open to any individual or company with international interests.  Membership will be by invitation and is subject to approval by the committee.  Corporate and individual membership fees will be charged.

A Message from the Chairman

Welcome to the Irish Chamber of Commerce in Malaysia, located here in Kuala Lumpur. The ICCM has an active relationship also with Malaysian Government, Semi Government and Malaysian businesses and strives to be a conduit where necessary for Irish companies either operating here or planning to set up in Malaysia. We are delighted that we have now been fully recognised as a Chamber of Commerce.

Every quarter, ICCM endeavors to organize at least one event of interest to members. For more details, please refer to our events page here. We will also keep members updated via social media and email.

ICCM is supported by the Irish Embassy, the Industrial Development Authority (IDA) and Enterprise Ireland.

We also work closely with other Irish organizations in Malaysia.

The St. Patrick’s Society of Selangor is in its 93rd year and organises many social events, including the best Ball in Asia, by all accounts. Nearly 1,000 people attend each year and all proceeds go to charity. You can contact the St. Patrick’s Society here.

In the northern part of Malaysia, the Penang Irish Association (PIA), which celebrated its 19th St Patrick’s Day Ball in March 2019 and its 5th St. Patrick’s Festival, including a street parade, caters to the needs of the Irish and their friends. Their magazine is Irish Insights. You can contact the PIA here.

The Orang Eire GAA Club is an active Gaelic games organization with a very busy schedule of training and games for men, women and children. You can contact them here.

Between our organizations we try to cater for most of the Irish residents needs as well as visiting Irish from anywhere in the world.

The backbone of our organization are its members and I urge anyone residing here in Malaysia or doing business here to join.

I look forward to meeting you at one of our events soon.
